Formerly an abattoir until 1971, The Globe Bar and Restaurant is a hidden gem in Laugharne. Offering a wide selection of wines and delicious locally-sourced food, The Globe is a natural meeting place with relaxed surroundings steeped in heritage.

The Globe House has been a hotel, a military billet, a horse and coach station, a butcher’s shop, an auction room, a video hire outlet, a bank and a residential property. The Globe House was purchased by Burnham Gleed, it remained as a family butchery until the retirement of Bobby Gleed in 1991.

The Globe has featured in the Dylan Thomas BBC biopic ‘Dylan in New York’, starring Tom Hollander. The Globe was also used in the hit BBC TV Series ‘Keeping Faith’ starring Eve Miles.
